I’ve been a parent for ten and a half months. Every once in a while I stop and consider that, and it blows my mind every time. She is vastly different now than as a newborn – she is wiggly and busy and curious. She doesn’t tolerate snuggling because it slows her down and she really needs to see that thing over there right now. She desperately wants to
walk run, and each time she holds my hands and hustles around the living room I can feel that she’s gained a bit more balance than last time. Gone is the sleepy, swaddled baby burrito, and in her stead is this busy wannabe-toddler. It hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve been loving every second of it, and every second of watching her become herself.
This comic from Incidental Comics is funny and poignant and had me nodding in agreement the whole time. Enjoy!
